Hippo Animator 2.1 is now available and it includes SVG import & export. You can now add vector graphics created in other application to Hippo Animator. Vector graphics is exported as SVG, VML and PNG to support all browsers. Also added is opacity for individual fills and borders for extra flexibility. www.hippostudios.co.uk/?S=News&P=NewsView&RecordId=99

You wouldn't believe how hard that was and how much mathematics is involved.

We've just done an update 2.1.4681 to help load poorly formatted SVG.

Congratulations! I can only imagine how hard it was but it was truly worth the effort. This feature alone will be huge for Hippo.
Well done again! dk

If anybody finds that their svg won't import, let us have a look, maybe we can fix it, there are a lot of quirks and shortcut we've found that people/apps use.

Where do I find svg import? Is it within the add image button? I did an update a while ago and I don't have that option. Current Version I have 2.1.4681.15367

Yes that works, or you can use 'Open Drawing' from the library menu.

OK, just done another update. Fixed a few more quirks.
We've also added a resize button for large svg drawings and if you double click a line in the editor, that line or shape will be selected for editing.
We hope to add lot more tools to the drawing editor in the future.

Yet another update, sorry about that, looks like the SVG is improving though.
If you add the same drawing or shape to a movie more that once. It only appears in the code once. This can reduce the size of the HTML massively in some case. One guy had the same drawing about 25 times in his movie and the HTML ended up being 2MB+. That's all sorted now.
