when i do this and try to edit it, the size automatically goes to 100 x 100...no matter what size it was before....

The basic primitives are all 100x100 by default, drawings can be much bigger.

The basic primitives are all 100x100 by default, drawings can be much bigger. no, i know that...i meant if i take a rectangle box thats say 400-100 and convert to image (or any different size for example.....it resizes (crops and changes proportions) to 100 x 100

Say you had the same box in your movie 10 times, all different sizes, what size would it convert the image to. It doesn't know so it chooses 100x100. Maybe a "What size do you want this?" dialog would be better.

Maybe a "What size do you want this?" dialog would be better. maybe..i just figured if the original vector object sitting on the timeline was say, 500 x 236...shouldnt the convert image option just convert it to an image and leave the size alone?

The trouble is there might be more than one size or no instances in the timeline at all. We've added a new dialog in the latest build. If you click convert to image, you can choose the width and height.
