pixelation on iPad

I've noticed that animation has a tendency to get pixelated when running on iPad. While things are moving, then when they stop they sort of 'unpixelate'. I've searched the internet regarding this but I haven't found anything. Is this behavior standard for css animation. Or is it something Hippo Animator does?

I think this a safari thing. We've tried to fix it, there is a css value for safari to fix the issue but it doesn't seem to do anything. We'll take another look.
