Great software! I am using it for some other animation projects, but had a request to generate some simple text scroll GIFs. So thought I would use HIPPO. Super easy, but no matter what I try the exported GIF is a little jumpy. I tried different browsers, size of text and font, more/less frames, changes to background & color, spacing of the text, using text as an image, turning off transitions. I am using HIPPO version 3.6.4248 Attached should be the hani file and exported GIF Would appreciate tips to improve the GIF and remove the jumpies - cheers! Attachments:Text_Scroll.hani (687 B)

Hi, it looks like your first frame is the same as the last. So there is a slight pause when is shows the same frame twice. Try making the gif one frame shorter.

Thank you, I did try that, but the actual scroll still has a little hesitation or 'jump' to it throughout the scroll. I tried to make the file smaller thinking it was a file size issue - but no improvement. I did export the movie as individual images and walked through them manually - the animation progression looked good. But when played as a GIF they get jumpy. I even see that little 'jump' when playing the movie using the Hippo Player (could be my eyes by this hour ;-) I am open for ideas....Thanks again!

You should make sure the last frame (frame 15) is exactly identical to the first (frame 0). Then on export select frames 0 to 14 and export

Thank you Runes for the tip. Yes, when the last frame is the same as the first I would see a little 'stall" in the animation due to those repeated frames. But what I am seeing is a slight jumpy motion throughout the entire movie.
Today I tried on different OS, on different servers, and different internet sites. Always the same (also had others look to be sure it was not my eyes ;-)
Thought maybe I am seeing it because the motion is so linear and high contrast. So I made an aliased fuzzy JPG of the text at lower contrast and reanimated - still saw the jumpies.
Oh well, not the worst thing in the world - but if anyone has ideas I'll keep trying! Thanks again!

Is the GIF runes created jumping, because that one looks fine to me.

Sorry for my delayed reply. Yes we are seeing the same slight 'jumpy' motion throughout that gif. Had others look at that on other computers & iPhones. I'm thinking that is just how it will be and there are no settings or animation changes I can make to smooth that out. Thanks everyone for your help - let's call this done ;-)

Have you considered HTML export instead?
