Would anybody be able to test out the new audio/video export feature and give us some feedback?

I made some testing. I could export a movie to MP4, OGG and WebM formats. There are some issues with the audio in the video, but this is another story. Almost any other format, like AVI and Matroska, show "The audio video codec failed" error. The Format list has a lot of, I think, useless choices, as audio, subtitles, Flash, images and others formats. May be it's better to leave only the most used (and working) video formats. That's annoying.
What OS did you test on?

Hello. I just upgraded to version 5.1.6078 and tried to do a simple animation just a basic shape moving through the screen. As soon as I click the "Export" button on the top menu I get a window with an error stating "ffmpeg.exe stopped working". I can close the window and continue working, but when I choose the audio/video export option and then click on the "Format" option to export nothing shows up. Haven't tried the other export options (HTML5, GIF, etc.) The OS I am using is Windows Vista 32 bit. Before upgrading I had no issues.

Thank you. If there's a file for error logging, or if you need any other information I'll be more than glad to send it to you. I am still trying to find out if it is a problem with the CODECS or something unrelated to Hippani. I'll try a rollback to the previous version and post the results here. As an update to my previous message, I tried the other export options HTML5, GIF, etc. even after getting the error window ("ffmpeg stopped working") and they worked fine.
BTW I am very happy with your product and wanted to congratulate and encourage you and your team to keep up the great work!

Hi guys, is the latest version any better.
Try viewing the videos in a web browser like chrome to see if they work.
We've made it so that if FFMPEG fails then at least you can still export raw AVI.

for me mp4 exports but has issues with playback in windows mediaplayer and adobe products. I can convert them with 'Any Video Converter' and then they work fine. I think this may be an issue with ffmpeg in general. AVI export fails for me. I think it worked at first, but then I changed the Bitrate and now it fails with this message: 'The audio video codec failed. Error while opening encoder for output stream #0.0 - maybe incorrect parameters such as bit_rate, rate, width or height' What was the initial bitrate? It seems a bit weird to have options to export pure audio from an animation software Right now it doesn't really make sense but if, at some point, the audio features in the timeline would be more advanced this could be really useful.

We've improved it a bit more. New version online.
It's interesting that you've noted the some encoders only support certain bit rates. We'll look into that.
If we can get this to work, we hope to make it so the software can export multiple audio and video formats when you export html. That should really improve cross browser compatibility.

I just downloaded the latest version v5.1.6097
My results:
1) The "FFMPEG" error still happens as soon as the "Export" button on the menu bar is pressed. You can continue working 2) On the Audio/Video tab in the "Format" dropdown option it shows "RAW Audio Video Interleaved" 3) You can export and it will produce the .avi file 4) I played back the generated .avi file with the "Media Player Classic" and it works without any problems
OS: Windows Vista 32 bit Player: Media Player Classic v1.6.8.7378(7d1831b)

Argh! version 5.1.6097. No matter what I select I get the error that I'm exporting an uncompressed AVI and the filesize is too big (more than 1.1 GB) I have 3 huge animations with a deadline today. Could you look at the export features again?

Version 5.1.6097 on Windows 10. Always exports to AVI, it doesn't matter if I change the Format, the output each time is an AVI file.
